Vets4Pets Chelmsford is part of the Vets4Pets group, and the website describes it as a small-animal practice with in-house diagnostics (including lab work, digital X‑ray and ultrasound) plus an operating theatre and dental X‑ray. Reviews repeatedly mention being seen quickly for urgent issues (including “within minutes” and same‑day appointments), and owners describe practical help beyond the consult itself—for example, staff handling an insurance claim and challenging an initial insurer rejection after a cat’s dental extractions and weight‑loss investigation. There’s also at least one negative account focused on customer service at reception.

Our cat needed to have teeth out and investigation into weight loss. The staff and vets here are absolutely exceptional and very caring with our cat. They also managed our insurance claim and when the insurers initially rejected the claim, they challenged it for us and got some of the fees paid. Highly recommend this place

Fantastic customer service and treatment! Had to have an emergency appointment for my poorly puppy, I was seen within minutes! Very professional, helpful advice was given from all the team. Thank you for taking such good care of Lilly! 4 years on and I wanted to post again to say how wonderful Zizia is! Thank you so much for helping our Lilly, for always being there, it is so obvious you really care about the animals you treat. Hopefully we won't see you too soon but we know we are in great hands when we need to! Thank you again

So Vets4Pets aren't our normal vets but late Saturday afternoon our cat wandered in with a tick on her back. Our vets were shut. After phoning around and most vets being completely unhelpful and not willing to see her Vets4Pets said they'd see her straight away. We went straight down there, seen within minutes but absolutely wonderful and friendly staff. Wish I'd got their names. Visit date was today 19/10/2024 around 5pm. I can not thank you enough. So wonderfully helpful and FANTASTIC service. Perfect!

I have been visiting for over 8 years now with my retired greyhound King. Having lived in Chelmsford and are now based on Canvey Island I still visit V4P as my primary vet. I was fortunate back in 2015 to sign on for their Vac4Life programme and have thus saved a packet over the 8 years I've had him on his injections. However, having adopted an Irish ex-racing dog I have certainly made up for those savings in other aliments & maladies draining my income. The front of house staff, the nurses and the vets have always been a pleasure to deal with and always treated King with utmost respect and care. This was particularly apparent recently when he had to have a toe amputated at the grand age of 14 years 3 months wherein he required multiple visits and become a celebrity. The treatment plan was discussed at length trying various avenues before resorting to general anesthetic. He pulled through and has gone on to make a tremendous recovery. They gave me friend back and for that I am enormously grateful.

100% RECOMMENDED...From the reception through to vets, polite cheerful, empathic when needed. Special thank you to Becky but to all the people involved with treating Ollie. He is an older boy now with athrities and is treated with great kindness. He is having treatment at present for an infection in his pad from a grass seed , this involved a raid on the consultation treats jar.

I took my Dalmatian 'Jasper' to this veterinary clinic for his whole life. They operated on him twice in 12 years, saving his life with great care. They have always been able to fit him in for a visit at short notice and finally helped him traverse the Big rainbow bridge to a pain free world last week. All my thanks to the wonderful staff at Vets4Pets. Miss him already.
